The architect Jules Hardouin-Mansart designed the chapel of the Castle of Versailles. It was achieved only in 1710. The ridge of the roof is 43m above the level of the courtyard. The chapel of the castle is next to the angle between the wing of the King’s great apartments and the north wing. The roof is higher than any other part of the castle.
